POSITION TITLE: Senior People Business Partner

 

LOCATION: St. Gabriel, LA

 

Our Fluor and Energy Materials business group is seeking to hire a Senior People Business Partner to support our facility in St. Gabriel, LA. The People Business Partner will serve as a hands-on generalist and partner to leaders and employees at all levels at our growing operations plant in St. Gabriel, LA, and in our Madison, WI operations plant. This role is responsible for delivering full-spectrum HR support, strengthening organizational capability, and fostering a high-performing, inclusive culture. The PBP will collaborate closely with plant leadership and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to drive workforce planning, employee relations, support local talent development and recruitment efforts, and drive HR process excellence.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive culture aligned with company values
  • Serve as the primary on-site HR contact for employees and leaders, providing guidance on policies, performance management, conflict resolution, and workplace practices
  • Coach leaders on effective people management, communication, and engagement strategies
  • Partner with plant leadership to understand business goals and translate them into workforce plans
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition COE to identify recruitment needs and support the full hiring lifecycle for plant roles; participate in interviews, selection, and onboarding to ensure a strong candidate and new‑hire experience
  • Partner with the Talent & Learning COE to implement performance reviews, development programs, succession planning, and high‑potential identification; support leadership capability-building initiatives and plant training programs
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as internal policies
  • Manage the development, communication, and compliance of employee policies, while maintaining accurate, secure, and up‑to‑date employee files in alignment with organizational and legal requirements
  • Maintain accurate HR data, reporting, and documentation
  • Partner with Compensation & Benefits COEs to support annual cycles and resolve employee questions
  • Drive process improvements to enhance HR service delivery onsite

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Academic Level: Bachelor’s in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Language(s) and level of proficiency:  Fluent - written and spoken English
  • Knowledge/Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within chemical manufacturing, industrial operations, supply chain, or related environments
  • Solid understanding of HR compliance and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence leaders, and navigate complex, fast-paced environments

"The compensation for this position will typically range from $89,000 - $164,500 per year. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.

The compensation package may also include short- and long-term incentive compensation. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare coverage, a 401(k)-retirement savings plan, paid company holidays, paid vacation time, paid sick time, parental leave, short- and long-term disability leave, and an employee assistance program.
