Exciting Position Available for a Shipping Attendant

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

The Shipper/Receiver will properly prepare and load outgoing shipments of finished products, unload incoming shipments, and transport of materials/finished products to appropriate department and/or storage location. The role will assist with yard organization and housekeeping.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pick, stage, and load product for outgoing shipments.
• Unload incoming shipments and place in designated storage locations.
• Verify correct information and labelling of materials.
• Route items to appropriate departments if required.
• Assist with inventory control; provide weekly, monthly and yearly cycle count for steel reels and inventory.
• Examine outgoing shipments for any product defects.
• Report all product defects to the appropriate department.
• Complete daily inspection checklist for forklift operation.
• Report all forklift performance issues.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, warehouse and yard space.
• Follow all safety requirements, abiding by all policies and procedures at Dura-Line.
• Perform all other duties as directed by management.

EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of 2 years shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse environment
• Lift truck (forklift) experience, a valid forklift license required
• Ability to work independently, and multi-task.
• Ability to communicate well and work within a team environment.

OCCUPATIONAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lb with reasonable experience
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well
• Mobility sufficient to allow frequent entrance and exits from lift truck
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Fast paced manufacturing / warehouse environment
• Forklift use and exposure to inclement weather, at the shipping/receiving dock and outside reel / storage yard
• Opportunities for overtime.
