Dura-Line is hiring an experienced & passionate Quality Manager in our Elyria, Ohio, Manufacturing plant.

 

Dura-Line, an Orbia Business, is currently seeking a skilled and passionate Quality Manager for our Garden Street manufacturing facility. This crucial role involves leading Quality Assurance processes, implementing lean manufacturing initiatives, and fostering a culture of unwavering compliance with quality standards, expectations and contract-specific documents. We are looking for a change agent ready to make a substantial impact and drive long-term success through strategic focus and effective leadership. 

 

What You'll Be Doing: 

  • Resolving quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.​ 

  • Collaborate and participate on quality internal Audits and ensure that plants execute robust corrective actions without delay and ensure readiness for all internal and external quality audits.​ 

  • Develop the annual audit plan, train internal audit team members, perform necessary duties as Lead Internal Auditor and provide ongoing communication/reporting of results including working with external 3rd party registration/surveillance audits.​ 

  • Oversee the controlled document system, to include a final review of all changes to procedures, work instructions, forms, master lists and other associated documents to ensure quality certification requirements are met.​ 

  • Manage and prioritize on-going continuous improvement projects directly related to operational processes to support business needs and ensure customer satisfaction.​ 

  • Responsible for process execution at the plant including Complaints, Change Control, Deviations, Laboratory Investigations, CAPA, ECOs, extension requests and Engineering change order, supplier approval/validation process, change management​. 

  • Manage and supervise quality department at the manufacturing location assigned including all aspects of planning and task management within the department. 

  • Elevate Dura-Line quality mentality and culture; needs to be able to drive and engage people in cross functional teams and internal customers (operations, functional groups, corporate) 

  • Ensure operational processes and subprocesses at the plant are following TL-9000 requirements, including inspection/testing methods, Calibration of M&TE, Control of Non-conforming Products, Operational Training, Supply Chain Development, FAI, Final Audits, Document Control, etc.) to ensure the quality of our products and customer satisfaction. 

 

Experience and Expertise: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (chemical or mechnical preferred) or 8-10 years of related work experience as an experienced quality manager in a lean manufacturing plant. Experience in the plastic industry is a huge plus!

  • 5 years in a Quality role working with a certified quality management system (QMS) in manufacturing operations, including quality administration and project management.   
  • Proven track record in implementing quality assurance processes  

  • Previous internal auditor background and experience developing an audit plan.Familiarity with TS/TL/ISO standards while previous experience as a Lead Internal Auditor is a plus. 

  •  Firsthand experience recommending and implementing enhancements to the quality system that result in improved corporate quality performance, increased customer satisfaction, and simplification of processes to reduce costs.  

  • Strategic and result-focused mindset to synthesize data and provide recommendations for compliant paths forward. 

  • Hands-on role requiring agility, servant leadership, and engagement at the plant. 

  • Must be independent and take the initiative to drive improvements. 

  • Develop standard work, maintain, and create work instructions, SOPs, and training guides for the team. 

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with ERP or SAP systems is a plus! 

 

  • Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws): 

  • Prolonged periods on the plant floor or warehouse area working in a manufacturing environment that may require walking, standing, etc including operating a forklift.  

  • Will spend time in an office environment, on a computer or in meetings.  

  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds  

  • Must be able to work in variable weather conditions and in an environment with many noises  

  • Comfortable wearing appropriate PPE while in production and warehouse areas.  

 

What We Offer You: 

The compensation for this position will typically range from $98,000-$181,500 annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.   

The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare coverage, a 401(k)-retirement savings plan with a 9% company match, paid company holidays, paid vacation time, paid sick time, parental leave, short- and long-term disability leave, and an employee assistance program.
