2. MAIN PURPOSE

 

This position will ensure the implementation of :

The OPV Environmental Management System at global level in all OPVs operations to be more environmentally efficient and will provide environmental support to all sites. The Product Stewardship leader is responsible for ensuring compliance with product regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality standards for PVC resin & derivates products globally.

This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Marketing, and Environmental Health & Safety (HSE), and the local stewardship leaders by site/ region.

 

3. DIMENSIONS OF JOB

 

This position will coordinate the development and implementation of the Environmental Management System & Stewardship management at global level in all OPSV operations to create and enforce a culture of Environment care.

4. SCOPE OF THE JOB

 

Global, the position will be responsible for coordinating the OPSV Environmental Management System & Stewardship Management

 In the Environmental side is responsible to ensure the operations can carry out projects to reduce environmental indicators and setting up action plans to ensure the improvement of environmental efficiency at global level in Vestolit.

5. COMPLEXITY OF THE JOB

  • This position will have influence enough in all sites to be able of communicate and implement the OPSV Environmental Management System (Parto of OEMS), also will be the connection to work across the different levels in the organization.
  • The position will be able to give feedback and support the sites in terms of Environmental Affairs, such as training and reports.
  • The position will have to work alongside the sites to set up action plans for environmental improvement, projects to reduce KPIs, technology improvement and addressing the sites to focus efforts on main environmental issues. Due to the scope of the position, there will be cultural challenges among the sites and for the implementation of the environmental management systems.
    • The position will provide all product stewardship and related communication, (for e.g. SDS, product labels, etc.), advice and expertise to provide clear interpretations, and ensures compliance with U.S., LATAM and global regulations, laws, and associated procedures.
    • Lead the stewardship team to define/determines applicability of rules, permits, and requirements if is necessary.
    • Make sound decisions to ensure Stewardship compliance for our plants – including interaction with the purchasing dept (generate PO’s for e.g.), and Legal dept (support NDAs with vendors, for e.g.).  
    • Familiarity with SAP &/or other project management tools.
    • The position will need to create system to ensure the easy and fast accesso to the starship information.

7. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

  • The following responsibilities will have to be done at global level in Vestolit:
    • Establishment of guidelines for OPSV's environmental management system.
    • Support the development of action plans to improve the environmental efficiency of operations. (Development of projects, procedures, operational controls, etc.)
    • Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures and promote to increase the HSE&S culture as set out by the Company.
    • Provide guidance and direction in HSE&S programs at corporate level to ensure a common and effective approach.
    • Assistance in the identification of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness.
    • Provide guidance at corporate level for effective HSE&S report in reporting platforms. (ODISEO, ENHESA)
    • Develop the training plan for HSE&S reports in reporting platforms. (ODISEO, ENHESA)
    • Support in the creation and implementation of audit plans for effective compliance with legal requirements.
    • Creation of strategies to achieve the environmental objectives proposed by Orbia's corporate
    • Creation of KPIs to evaluate the performance and environmental efficiency of operations
    • Development of procedures for the standardization of the measurement of environmental indicators for all Vestolit operations.
    • Creation of executive reports for effective communication of HSE & S indicators.
    • Ensure effective communication between operations and the corporate in matters of Environment and Sustainability
    • Creation of working groups for the creation of environmental strategies or projects within sustainability.
    • Creation of connections with external parties to develop strategies that help improve the environmental performance of operations at Vestolit.
    • Create guidance of different committees that involve environmental issues for OPSV business.
    • The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
    • Travel to site and operational offices as required and perform any additional duties as required.
    • Managing the data Collection and Verification: Gather, organize, and verify regulatory compliance and safety data from suppliers, ensuring raw materials meet standards for responsible sourcing. Manage product data related to regulatory compliance, hazard communication, and certification.
    • Utilize and maintain regulatory databases and compliance management systems to ensure accurate, up-to-date information on product compliance, composition, and environmental performance.
    • Ensure the regularly update internal stakeholders on product stewardship metrics, regulatory changes, and sustainability KPIs, preparing summaries of product compliance, sustainability progress, and risk assessments.
    • Provide regulatory guidance on product design, raw materials, and manufacturing.

8. EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree on Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or affine with at least 4 years leading Environmental management systems and sustainability projects in chemical industries.

 

 

 

 

 

 

9. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Knowledge in developing / implementing action plans for Environmental Management Systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communicating technical ideas in plain trainings and HSE Systems.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills, detail-oriented and takes initiative to tackle challenges
