Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is hiring for a Global Business Development Manager to be based in the UK/EU. Working remotely this role requires up to 50% travel mostly within the UK/EU.

 

Main Purpose

The global business development manager will be responsible for helping to plan and execute the Fluor and Energy Materials business transition to lower carbon footprint solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.  They must have good leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills since the job involves writing business proposals, coordinating with stakeholders, determining business strengths, identifying customer needs, and encouraging business partnerships.  They will own the opportunity pipeline and work closely with technical and sales to define new product sales goals and develop strategies to convert customers.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Own the business development of the Fluor and Energy Materials business next generation propellants. Utilize the existing opportunity pipeline to drive prospects to convert.
  • Research and build relationships with prospects, ID and drive opportunities forward with decision makers within the client organization. Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Be the lead for development proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives, including pricing the solution/service.
  • Manage objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. 
  • Collaborate with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs and develop additional revenue streams.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services and products.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Undergraduate degree in engineering or sciences.

 

Knowledge/ Experience Required

  • 7+ years of sales/business development experience with a strong commercial experience especially with contract development and negotiation.
  • 5+ years in the pharmaceutical or medical propellants industry with a deep intimate knowledge of both the business and technical aspects of the value chain, key players, regulatory, application requirements and material solutions.
  • A global, forward thinking, collaborative & innovative mindset.
  • Tendency to thrive in self-motivated, fluid and dynamic environments where balance between immediate and long-term needs is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communications and presentation skills and ability to build and maintain lasting relationships.
  • Experienced negotiator, able to review contracts/proposals.
