Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is hiring for a Category Procurement Manager to be based at our Thornton Science Park in Cheshire, UK!

 

Main Purpose

Responsible for the management of assigned categories across Koura’s Chemical Business in the UK, US, Mexico and Japan for both current portfolio and business growth requirements. Provide effective alignment and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders within area of responsibility, optimising the procurement for the categories across the group. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely and proactively with the Senior Category Procurement Manager to develop the procurement strategy for categories to deliver value and ongoing improvement for the business.  
  • Work collaboratively with regional Procurement colleagues, to ensure alignment in ways of working and sharing best practice.
  • Implement the agreed category procurement strategy, ensuring day to day activities are fully developed and maximising contribution to the business.
  • Be responsible for the end-to-end procurement activities for assigned category, from strategic to transactional.
  • Establish strong internal stakeholder relationships across the various departments and locations, including but not limited to regional Service Delivery Teams, Operations, Legal, Finance, Business Growth and Commercial funtions, working collaboratively for the benefit of Koura.
  • Ensure highest standards of service are delivered to stakeholders across the various regions and timezones. Work flexibly and with agility to ensure all stakeholder groups are supported.
  • Manage category procurement and contract activities across the regions, ensuring full understanding of customer needs and translating them into best value for the business (safety, compliance, cost, quality and security).

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Degree or equivalent in Business Management (or similar equivalent) or relevant demonstrable experience. 
  • Desirable: Formal Procurement qualifications, for example Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS).

 

Knowledge/ Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in a Procurement role ideally in the Chemical Sector. Experience in development of category management strategy, identification of supplier risk and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience of working in a multi-site business with large turnover and global procurement and associated contracts is essential. Contract management experience including negotiation of legal contract terms across various disciplines.
  • Strong stakeholder skills, able to build strong relationships across diverse cultures.
  • Able to work independently in a changing environment.
  • Commercial experience, including purchasing systems, processes and procedures.
