We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Specialist  to join us at Orbia Building & Infrastructure (Wavin) . If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.

 

 

 

The Technical Sales Specialist plays a critical role in expanding Wavin's stormwater product opportunities by providing technical expertise, project coordination, and inside sales support. This role is central to driving specifications, enhancing customer value, supporting the sales team across North America, and managing inside sales duties.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assessing Civil Engineering Plans to identify the opportunities for Wavin products and managing the client project tracking & accounts to support sales in winning this work
  • Leveraging Wavin Design Tools and AutoCAD to provide Wavin product designs
  • Leveraging Bluebeam software and others to “Take Off” Wavin product opportunities from civil engineering plans or internal designs to create a Bill of Materials
  • Completing Quotes based on customer lists or Bills of Materials 
  • Proactive job search and estimate for potential product conversion to Wavin UCR products
  • Contact new potential customers to convey competitive advantages of UCR products
  • Manage project pipeline and independently gain sales for UCR products as an inside sales agent.

 

Project Services

 

  • A Technical Services and Sales Specialist independently completes work with no review or oversight.
  • A Technical Services and Sales Specialist may start to specialize in more complex work within service or larger areas of assignment or begin broadening skills to be able to perform multiple services.
  • Assists with territory-specific questions from others.
  • Consistently meet SLAs for turnaround times.
  • Supports sales goals by growing and maintaining pipeline of new projects in key markets within US and Canada

  • Prioritize urgent and more complex work within your assigned area.
  • Awareness of Service Level Agreements across queues and propose shifts to supervisors if needed.
  • Ability to identify issues provided on internal or external material lists/plans and present workable solutions.

 

Communication and Collaboration

 

  • An ability to answer basic frequent questions and more advanced territory-specific questions if needed.
  • Verbal and written communication is clear, concise, and easily understood, ensuring accurate interpretation of work details or project take-offs.
  • Confidently communicate with Customers, Sales, and Team members on the most effective channel (Call, Text, Email, Teams, etc.).
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and ask advanced questions specific to the primary territory.
  • Be visible while interacting on video calls in accordance with the Wavin Dress Code.

 

Relationship Building

 

  • Establish relationships with mentors, team members, and the outside sales team.
  • Establish and grow relationships with customers to grow sales in the US.
  • Seek out advice and ask questions proactively.
  • Show initiative and responsibility in throughput.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet business goals and assist in other areas when directed.

 

Performance and Quality

 

  • Perform all daily tasks from the technical role independently and without review.
  • Consistently meet SLAs for case/quote turnaround times and may exceed SLAs for technical specialist level work.
  • Start to specialize in more complex work or larger areas of assignment, or begin broadening skills to perform takeoffs, quotes, and drawings.
  • Display accountability and dependability in the execution of assigned projects.
  • Actively track progress on goals and make achievements and opportunities for improvement visible to supervisors.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge beyond your assigned region.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement activities, collaborating with team members to identify inefficiencies and suggest process improvements.
  • Offer solutions when pain points in processes/procedures are recognized.
  • Seen as a change agent – first to adopt changes that increase efficiency.
  • Demonstrate openness to receiving constructive feedback and use it as an opportunity for growth and improvement.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field with minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced skills with drafting software (AutoCAD)
  • Advanced capabilities with Windows and Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • Meticulous and able to work quickly without compromising accuracy.
  • Ability to read Civil Engineering Plans and work with 2D or 3D documents.
  • Advanced Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience for work management or quoting preferred.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu or other Engineering Mark-Up Software, or other drafting software.

Salary Range

 

    • Above average salary with sales compensation through quarterly bonuses ($100K-$130K)
    • Total compensation (including benefits): Company subsidized healthcare, 401km bonuses, PTO, etc.
    • Increased salary range for job related skills that increase the market value, especially in stormwater product/application knowledge.
