POSITION TITLE: Talent & Recruitment Specialist
LOCATION: St. Gabriel, LA
Our Flour and Energy Materials business group is seeking to hire a Talent & Recruitment Specialist to support our new facility in St. Gabriel, LA. The Talent & Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for full‑cycle recruitment for US‑based positions, with a primary focus on supporting organizational growth and staffing requirements associated with the build‑out and phased workforce ramp‑up of a new chemical manufacturing facility in St. Gabriel, LA. The role is accountable for planning, sourcing, and hiring ~130 employees over three years, ensuring the plant is staffed on time, safely, and in full regulatory compliance. The Talent & Recruitment Specialist must be experienced in hiring for the chemical manufacturing industry with direct knowledge of this market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Workforce Planning & Ramp‑Up Execution
- Translate the plant construction and production ramp‑up plan into a multi‑year hiring roadmap (by phase, function, and skill).
- Support early‑stage hiring (engineering, maintenance, EHS, supervisors) followed by bulk hiring of operators and technicians aligned to commissioning and go‑live milestones.
- Act as the single point of accountability for regional hiring execution, tracking progress, risks, and timelines.
2. Full‑Cycle Recruitment
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for hourly and salaried positions
- Run intake sessions with hiring managers to finalize job design, skill requirements, and compensation alignment.
3. Chemical Industry & Safety‑Focused Hiring
- Ensure candidates meet chemical manufacturing, safety‑critical, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with EHS and Plant Leadership to embed safety mindset, permit requirements, and compliance expectations into hiring decisions.
4. Local Market Sourcing Strategy (Louisiana)
- Build strong local and regional talent pipelines using:
- Competitor mapping (chemical plants, industrial sites)
- Technical schools, community colleges, and veteran programs
- Referrals and local community outreach
- Leverage local labor‑market intelligence to advise leadership on availability, pay pressure, and hiring risks
5. Stakeholder & Project Partnership
- Act as a trusted TA partner to Operations, Engineering, and People.
- Provide clear reporting on hiring status, bottlenecks, and mitigation actions.
- Support employer‑branding efforts locally to position the plant as an employer of choice.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must‑Have
- 5–8+ years of recruitment experience in chemical, industrial, manufacturing, or energy environments.
- Proven experience supporting plant start‑ups, expansions, or large‑scale hiring ramp‑ups.
- Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing roles, shift‑based hiring, and safety‑critical environments.
- Experience hiring both hourly and salaried plant populations.
- Ability to work on‑site and build credibility with plant leadership and operations teams.
Preferred
- Experience recruiting in Louisiana / Gulf Coast industrial markets.
- Knowledge of US federal grant compliance requirements
- Familiarity with OSHA, EHS, and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in project‑based or matrixed global organizations.

"The compensation for this position will typically range from $89,000 - 1$64,500 per year. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
The compensation package may also include short- and long-term incentive compensation.
