We are currently looking for a Buyer CZ, HU and SK to join us in Wavin Czechia s.r.o., an Orbia business. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.

 

Main purpose
As a Buyer CZ, HU and SK, you will be a key driver of procurement excellence within your designated Business Unit (BU), acting as a trusted advisor to both local and regional stakeholders. You will strategically manage BU assigned spending and contracts, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives and Orbia policies. Your focus will be on maximizing value through cost savings, process optimization, and fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with key local suppliers. Additionally, you will lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of the local supply base while providing expert procurement guidance across internal functions. By working closely with global category managers, you will leverage expertise, align with global strategies, and drive continuous improvement in procurement practices.
 

Main responsibilities

  • Identify and understand local customer requirements, ensuring procurement solutions align with business needs.
  • Analyze assigned BU spend to identify sourcing opportunities, collaborating with global category managers when necessary to align with category strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing projects using the 7-step methodology to drive cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Support BU spot requirements by providing competitive alternatives that ensure business continuity.
  • Assist in local and region-wide category activities, focusing on benefit realization and execution of plans across all relevant sub-categories.
  • Oversee and implement supplier selection strategies, ensuring effective procurement processes and supplier management.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and service, ensuring they meet business and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and driving continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Local/Regional business stakeholders, acting as a key procurement advisor.
  • Manage and coordinate a network of Local/Regional representatives to support procurement activities and projects.
  • Align with Local/Regional Supply Chain Teams to optimize subcontractor and third-party vendor performance.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement projects, including automation initiatives such as SAP contracts, self-service procurement, and invoice matching.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on key procurement metrics for business stakeholders.
  • Uphold compliance with global Orbia and B&I procurement policies and procedures as outlined in the Procurement Mandate.
  • Support the Supply Chain team in handling claims and guarantees, escalating issues as needed.
  • Manage and maintain procurement documentation and records, ensuring transparency and audit readiness.

 

Our requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a high-volume environment, managing procurement projects, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring efficient inventory control.
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Finance, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Previous experience in an international B2B environment, working at a strategic level to drive procurement excellence and align with global business objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels and functions.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, taking initiative to drive procurement strategies forward.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in global and cross-functional teams; fluency in English is required, with additional languages being an advantage.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Strategic Sourcing initiatives, including the 7-step sourcing process, category management, and supplier negotiation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of market/category/product dynamics, including supplier trends, cost drivers, and risk assessment.
  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier evaluation to optimize procurement outcomes.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop insights, and make strategic recommendations; demonstrated skill in building persuasive business cases for procurement decisions.
  • Familiarity with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa) and data analysis tools for spend management and supplier performance tracking.
  • Understanding of procurement risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and compliance with regulatory and company policies.
