Production Assistant

The Production Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate production records for the KLEA R134a plant.   The Production Assistant also plays a pivotal role in ordering raw materials to support production needs.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Logistics: Monitors raw material inventories (Trichloroethylene, Hydrogen Fluoride, Caustic, Lime, and Hydrochloric Acid) and places orders (and receives) to maintain suitable inventory to support R134a production goals.  Key interface with raw material suppliers and internal supply chain personnel.  Performs physical inventory and reconciles as necessary.  Conducts annual physical inventory with internal and external auditors.
  • Production: Utilizes process data to calculate daily, weekly, and monthly production and enter into SAP.  Ensures accuracy and up to date forecasting, which is utilized by Customer Service to set finished product loading and packaging for on-time customer delivery.
  • Document Control: Maintains document control over copies issued to production of P&IDs, Process Descriptions, Loop Sheets, and other living documents used by Production Organization.
  • Reporting: Reports out on weekly production of R134a and HCL for site.  Leads month end closing activities for Production Organization.  As part of closing activities the Production Assistant works closely with Finance organization to ensure on-time and accurate production and raw material efficiencies.
  • Cost: Compiles cost center information for Production and Packaging organizations.  Works with Production and Packaging leadership to develop cost reports and troubleshoot variances monthly.  Identifies areas of cost optimization where appropriate.
  • Administration: Updates and distributes operation procedures for review.   Prepares detailed reports/presentations as needed for Production Manager, Production Superintendent, and Packaging Supervisor.   Assists with event planning and/or miscellaneous duties as needed. 

 

COMPLEXITY OF THE JOB

This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient and on time production for the site.  The role must interface with critical raw material suppliers and provide accurate production forecasts as well as internal Customer Service organization to ensure final product packaging is completed and shipped to the customer on time.  This role must also interface with the purchasing organization with timely execution of purchase orders as well as the finance organization for monthly closing duties. 

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LANGUAGE, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. 
    • Must have excellent communication skills. 
    • Ability to work in fast paced operations environment with a high level of organization. 
    • Experience using SAP is required (S4 preferred).  
    • xperienced with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.  Experience with using PowerBI a plus.
  • Language: Proficient in English.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb stairs, walk long distances, and stand for extended periods (in compliance with local laws).

 

“The compensation for this position will typically range from $62,000 – $114,500/yr. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare coverage, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid company holidays, paid vacation time, paid sick time, parental leave, short- and long-term disability leave, and an employee assistance program.
