Location: St Albert, AB, CAN

Shift: Dayshift. 2-3-2 rotating days, 12-hour work schedule, 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM

 

 

We are currently seeking a highly strategic Production Supervisor for our brand-new manufacturing plant in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. You will be responsible for leading your team to SUCCESS! Our site is a 24/7 operating manufacturing plant that has 12-hour shifts.

 

You will bring your proven people leadership skills to coach, mentor, and motivate your team while determining the best practices and implementing those practices on all shifts. You will be a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground, engaging, and involved leader to your team. You will lead by example and ensure to hit targets (in order of priority) in safety, quality, service, cost, and production. Your problem-solving skills will be key in this role!

 

In this critical role, you must be able to build a team that is dedicated and committed to excellence, with open communication, where all team members have a voice. You will need at least 3 years of management, supervisor or lead experience and a proven record of accomplishment of leading direct reports.

 

Our ideal Production Supervisor will have the following:

  • At least 3+ years of production experience in a manufacturing role, working with direct reports and shop floor accountability.  Experience in plastics manufacturing and extrusion is ideal.  Candidates with prior Supervisory experience are an asset. 
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to specifically handle multiple projects sometimes with unspecific deadlines, demonstrating an ability to prioritize between what is urgent and what is important.
  • You are a results-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment type of multitasker
  • You have excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively deliver information, whether good or bad, in a professional manner. 
  • You collaborate with the other cross-shift Supervisors and Employees to troubleshoot, problem solve, and maintain a consistent level of production, all the while minimizing time lost, waste, and scrap produced. 
  • Have a keen understanding of production metrics, as well as internal/external clients and how they are important to the overall business. 

 

What else can help you succeed in this role?

  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to complete required daily and monthly reports on attendance, machine efficiency, scrap, process improvement, etc. 
  • ERP/SAP experience is a plus!
  • Conducting daily Gemba walks, safety audits, and quality checks is a huge plus! 
  • Extrusion experience is a plus.

 

The compensation for this position will start at $40.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.

 

The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
