Dura-Line is seeking a Lead Line Operator to assist in monitoring the production processes, equipment, and staff to ensure maximum safety, efficiency, and quality. This employee will be assigned to various peripheral areas to develop leadership skills in preparation for a Supervisor role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor all operating parameters of the extruders
- Monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
- Perform mandatory quality checks on-line and equipment
- Perform routine machine maintenance
- Assist in providing supervision, direction, and hands-on involvement to staff
- Assist in communicating standards for process time, settings, and other specifications for optimum output and quality conditions
- Complete production work as needed, including running a production line
- Train and mentor operators on equipment usage and procedures
- Follow and implement safety and other company policies and procedures
- Read and comprehend production SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Record all data as required (i.e., charts, necessary process adjustments based on data findings, etc.)
- Assist production with troubleshooting and resolving processing problems
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, manuals, and take measurements
- Ability to travel to the USA for training purposes
- Perform work on special projects as needed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 + years of heavy equipment/machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience setting up and operating extrusion machinery - supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Working knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, SAP desirable
- Reading, writing, and mathematical competency required
OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Good mechanical skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask
- Computer proficiency
- Prior systems and continuous improvement orientation
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Manufacturing floor environment
- May include outside conditions on top of railcars or silos in all types of weather
