Senior HR Manager - APAC

Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is looking for a Senior HR Manager APAC to be based at our Tokyo office, Japan.

 

Main Purpose

Part of the APAC Leadership team, the HR Manager's role involves overseeing all HR functions to implement strategies aligned with business needs, acting as a strategic partner in the APAC organization. This includes Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Compensation and Benefits, Well-Being Initiatives, Labor Relations, and Organizational Communication, all in accordance with corporate guidelines and policies to achieve business objectives.

Manage all HR Plans/Initiatives, organizes and directs the implementation of People HR strategies in APAC as a strategic consultant for business leaders. Apply world-class processes aligned to the Orbia Fluor and Energy Materials People Strategy and Business Goals.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a HR strategy for the local Operations aligned to the Business Strategy.
  • Coordinate Talent Acquisition across all the countries whilst personally managing senior level resourcing with the relevant senior functional manager / director. 
  • Manage the local Labor Trade Union and make sure that all is in alignment with the local law.
  • Manage the assigned areas HR function on a day-to-day basis.
  • Influence, coach and mentor Managers across all areas of people management.
  • Ensure that the HR communications and staff engagement processes are robust, professional and managed effectively.
  • Drive and deliver HR and improvement projects ensuring outcomes are aligned to the business strategy and local labor laws.
  • Manage the HR budget ensuring best value is maintained.
  • Support the delivery Talent Development plans with senior teams in accordance with Corporate Management Talent Planning strategies.
  • Lead, coach and develop our workforce based in the business needs aligned to the Strategy and Talent and Succession Process.
  • Monitor and drive the completion of all Performance Reviews in conjunction with local management teams.
  • Manage the annual merit review process in accordance with global timeframes.
  • Design local strategies related to the Well-being and support H&SE initiatives to strength our Safety culture and keep the work-life balance.

 

Qualifications

Minimum: Graduate with 10-15 years experience in HR leadership positions.

Desirable: Masters Degree in Human Resources Management/MBA.

 

Knowledge/ Experience Required

  • Global mindset and Cultural awareness.
  • Being able to work and navigate in a matrix organization across international locations.
  • Experience in the chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of the local labor laws in Asia.
  • Proven success as a HR business partnership.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HR ERP software (Success Factors).
  • Change management and org psychology capability in a Japanese context.
  • Flexible and willing to travel to assigned sites and locations.
  • Commercially focused, able to manage and process information with absolute confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage several complex priorities concurrently and to a high standard.
  • Knowledge in the Japanese law (Taiwan, China).
  • Proficient in English and Japanese languages.
