Global Network Operations Leader

Main Purpose
 
As the Global Network Operations Leader, you will oversee and direct our worldwide network operations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This pivotal role involves managing our managed service partner to deliver exceptional network operations and support services on a global scale.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Oversee day-to-day network operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and incident response, to maintain high availability and peak performance.
  • Manage the escalation process to ensure timely resolution of critical network issues, minimizing impact on business operations.
  • Supervise routine maintenance activities to prevent unplanned downtime and extend the lifespan of network assets.
  • Lead change management processes—planning, approving, and implementing network changes with minimal disruption and compliance with best practices.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with our managed service partner, ensuring they meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Continuously assess and enhance network performance, reliability, and security, leveraging data and analytics to inform decisions.
  • Identify and lead initiatives for process improvements and technology enhancements to foster innovation.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate network disruptions and ensure business continuity.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on network status, issues, and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Orbia’s infrastructure standards, regulations, and security protocols, including conducting regular audits.
 
Education, Experience & Skills
 
Academic Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
 
Languages:
 
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
 
Technical Knowledge:
 
  • Expertise in network infrastructure technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Strong knowledge of network security best practices, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network access control.
  • Experience with cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Hands-on experience with deploying, configuring, and testing network equipment.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting tools such as Ansible and Python.
 
Management & Communication Skills:
 
  • Proven experience managing relationships with managed service providers (MSPs), vendors, and suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate with senior management and cross-functional teams.
 
Relevant Experience
 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in network operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing global network operations.
  • Extensive experience working with and managing managed service partners.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Experience with documentation, training, and support processes to facilitate smooth operational handovers.

 

Physical Requirements & Travel
 
  • Able to travel 10-20% internationally.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical mobility, vision, and strength sufficient to perform job duties in accordance with local laws.
