We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Plant Buyer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll ensure the smooth flow of materials, components, and services needed to support production schedules and customer demand. You’ll collaborate with suppliers, production, and corporate procurement to balance cost, quality, and delivery—keeping operations running efficiently and profitably.

What You’ll Do

Manage purchase orders from creation to completion, resolving any invoice, return, or vendor-related issues.

Source and purchase materials, components, and services in alignment with production needs and budget goals.

Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships while negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.

Implement and optimize vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs and other strategic sourcing initiatives.

Track open orders and expedite materials as needed to meet production timelines.

Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to adjust forecasts and communicate updates to suppliers.

Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities and continuous improvement strategies.

Support general plant administrative needs such as managing office supplies, coordinating visitors, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing purchasing or administrative role.

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or APICS certifications are a plus.

Experience & Knowledge: 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain roles (manufacturing environment preferred).

2+ years of recent work experience initiating procurement projects, including cost reductions, vendor management, ensuring supply continuity, purchasing equipment and services for plant operations, and sourcing and negotiating contracts, service agreements, and capital expenditures.

Must have basic purchasing understanding & hands on experience with Purchase Order (PO), Purchase Requisition (PR), invoice, data analysis, spend trends/tracking/reporting, pricign negotiation, etc

Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite preferred).

Recent experience in SAP Materials Management MM-PP, including procurement within the module is a huge plus

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required

Solid business acumen and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

The compensation for this position will typically range from $66,000-107,000 annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
