Are you an experienced Inventory Control Specialist seeking a dynamic opportunity in a manufacturing environment? Dura-Line, a leading manufacturer of conduit pipes, is looking for a skilled individual to join our team in Salt Lake City. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory records and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes. 

 

Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 7am-330pm

 

Pay: Starting at $23.28/HR and up Depending on Experience

As an Inventory Control Specialist at Dura-Line, you will conduct scheduled cycle counts on raw materials and finished goods, ensuring precision within a perpetual inventory system. Your duties include monitoring daily inventory transactions, resolving discrepancies, and supporting aged or slow materials. 

 

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Satisfy COGI errors (inventory discrepancies) generated during system transactions. 

  • Resolve issues with recorded information on process control sheets to maintain accurate inventory balances. 

  • Review completed production orders to ensure accurate inventory movement before assigning orders as Technically Complete (TECO). 

  • Maintain accurate inventory balances by reviewing stock levels against established levels or material demand. 

  • Perform inventory control cycle count operations as defined by the company, including weekly Resin, Regrind & Additives (RRA) Cycle Counts, monthly finished goods, and regular scheduled inventory counts on all other material groups. 

  • Review on-hand inventory in all SAP storage locations to ensure accurate counts and inventory turns. 

  • Investigate all inventory inaccuracies and establish appropriate corrective action plans. 

  • Initiate all documents for interplant material transfers, coordinate the transfer, and perform the applicable inventory transaction. 

  • Monitor the return of all cable, wire, and specialty materials back into raw material inventory after production order consumption. 

  • Review and track the material disposition of items returned through the return authorization and freight claim processes. 

  • Additional duties as required by management

 

Requirements

  • Ability to read instructions for material requirements and specifications and understand part numbers for all material requirements. 

  • Reading, writing, and mathematical competency. 

  • 2-3 years of experience in inventory control/management or supply chain role within a manufacturing company or continuous improvement environment. 

  • Forklift certified or able to obtain a forklift license. 

  • Experience with lean principles and methodologies preferred. 

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in pivot tables, V-Lookups, and MS Office Products; SAP/ERP systems and ISO Quality Management System preferred. 

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills. 

  • Creative and analytical with a strong attention to detail. 

  • Commitment to wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) required while in a manufacturing plant and in inventory yards outside the plant. 

 

Occupational and/or Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance. 

  • Ability to climb ladders, listen to equipment, look for defects in the product, and sense temperature changes in the finished product. 

  • Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance

  • Ability to spend up to 12 hours a shift on foot, around hot machinery

  • Ability to be in the facility and also out in the shipping yard, potentially in inclement weather at times 

 

The compensation for this position will is typically from $23.28/HR.  The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  

The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation. **For Tuition reimbursement you must be a full-time employee and complete one continuous year of employment. You will receive $5,000 a year for undergrad and $7,500 a year for grad.**
