S&OP Specialist

MAIN PURPOSE: To increase the profitability of the organization by strategically aligning the business unit’s functional plans into an operating scheme that will help ensure that the defined objectives and goals are achieved. 

The S&OP Specialist is responsible for defining and implementing a comprehensive and robust set of financial and operative databases that provide the production and commercial actions required to achieve the business unit’s financial goals for the company. This is achieved through production scheduling to satisfy the demand and reduce the working capital, as well as Sales, EBITDA, manufacturing expense forecasts to identify opportunities to improve the profitability of the company.

COMPLEXITY OF THE JOB.
•    Align the sales, production and supply chain departments to the company’s goals and objectives.
•    Develop EBITDA projections for Sales Management to establish the commercial scenarios that will provide the maximum profitability to the company.
•    Create KPIs that show the performance of the commercial and operational areas to improve processes or solve identified issues.
•    Analyze plant productivity to reduce manufacturing expenses. 
•    Develop an inventory plan to balance service levels, productivity and working capital control
•    Manage and minimize non-working, slow moving and obsolete inventory
•    Supports the Trading Coordinators and Plant planner in planning activities.
•    Work with cross functional teams to drive planning and execution process improvements that will reduce planning errors, improve planning decisions, and optimize for network performance.
•    Identifies areas/projects requiring attention, develops priorities, identifies work plan for staff and coordinates review of projects with management.

 

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    Determine plant utilization rates and optimize product mix to maximize profitability.
•    Analyze and level out finished goods inventory, ensuring turnover and promoting  among the sales department.
•    Coordinate with the Plant Manager scheduled shutdowns to maintain service levels with minimal costs and working capital
•    Drive the creation and accuracy of sales forecasts utilizing all information technology available.
•    Analyze month-end S&OP reports to identify the improvement opportunities for the company.
•    Use the forecast to drive raw material and finished goods inventory control.
•    Seek to minimize and support the reduction of NWSM / Obsolete Inventory.
•    Maintain Master Data in accordance with production schedule
•    Maintain SOX compliance with Change from request
•    Integrate databases to generate information that, through analysis, allow us to create knowledge of the company for decision making
•    Monitors external and internal issues that may impact customer order fulfillment
•    Create an environment of continuous improvement
•    Pivotal to communicate Commercials needs into our production availability
•    Strategically coordinates information from all areas for decision making and visibility
