Regional Strategic Cap-Ex Manager

Dura-Line LLC. is currently seeking to hire a Regional Strategic Cap-Ex Manager for our US Regions to oversee our large capital projects involving plant expansions and new plant installations.  This role also manages specific projects at existing facilities in collaboration with the local Engineering teams that are strategic to the success of our Operations teams. This is a hybrid position for candidates that live within 50 minutes of one of our site locations or are willing to relocate near one of the site locations.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage launch of new facilities
  • Coordinate work inside of existing facilities to execute critical projects to improve the plant’s capacity and performance
  • Engage with EHSS, Procurement, Quality, Operations, Finance, and other teams to execute projects aligned with our holistic objectives
  • Prepare estimates for capital projects, including specifications, and scope of work documents for quoting and contract purposes
  • Elaborate cap-ex request package including Orbia forms, executive summary, and required backup documentation
  • Review lessons learned in past projects and incorporated relevant past learnings
  • Work with suppliers on new products, obtain prototypes, set up testing and assessments
  • Work with Commercial / Planning (IBP) teams to map growth requirements and help draft growth scenarios
  • Create CAD drawings as needed of layouts or parts
  • Connect with people at an executive level as well as at an operator level

 

 

Role Challenges

 

  • The job requires being self-directed and having ability to work in an environment with ambiguity where certain aspects of the project are not clearly defined
  • The day-to-day work will be subject to changing business priorities.  We often don’t have a long time to react to changes in our market, this role will be exposed to these challenges and will need to adapt accordingly
  • Managing the complexity of large projects while maintaining strong relations between all parties involved (suppliers, contractors, designers, and DL internal teams)
  • The role will be needed to manage small projects through plant teams; these teams often have multiple priorities.  The person in this role will need to establish a strong collaborative environment with the plants

 

Skills and/or Experience Requirements:

 

  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time and have experience working individually/remotely
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or equivalent 
  • 10+ years as process and project engineer supporting operations across multiple manufacturing locations
  • Extrusion / plastics extrusion is valued, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of equipment selection, installation and commissioning is required
  • Solid Project Management skills and experience are required, PMP certification is not required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to successfully influence through indirect and matrix relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. You must possess excellent computer skills with desktop applications which include MS Office, project management and data analytics tools.
  • Proficient in 2D CAD software required.

 “The compensation for this position will typically range from $134,000 -$218,000/yr.  The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.

 

 The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
