We are currently looking for a Maintenance Team Leader to join us at Forest Works. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.
Reporting to the Engineering Lead, the Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and assisting the engineering activities of Forest Works Manufacturing processes to the achievement of planned site operational and Health & Safety objectives. The role will also be responsible for developing and influencing individual team members, ensuring that they are clearly aware of both their personal and their team objectives.
The role
- Active engagement with plant safety, raising of safety concerns and strict adherence to the 12 Work Safe Basics
- To be a hands-on (80/20% split practical/office based) member of the maintenance team, providing leadership and motivation to the engineering team
- Leading a multi-skilled engineering team including delegation of work and monitoring individuals and team performance
- Responsible for identifying and prioritizing pro-active and reactive maintenance tasks on a daily basis
- Supporting the Engineering Manager in the day to day running of the department
- Communicate with the site leadership team escalating any problems or issues related to production and engineering
- Ensuring best practice is followed by the team and shared across all shifts
- The writing of clear, concise handovers between shifts; capturing machines issues that could impact production
- Lead the shift on day-to-day maintenance activity maintaining machine availability
- Coordinate workplace organisation
- Liaise with Engineering Manager regarding Continuous Improvement and long-term projects
- Provide hands on support for shift teams
- Coach and mentor maintenance engineers to develop succession plan
- Identify training requirements of maintenance team
- Mentor apprentice(s) within the maintenance department
- To actively and analytically fault find
- Operate in line with all Wavin HS&E standards and procedures
- Responsible for overseeing plant safety including site emergency evacuation procedures
- Appropriate supervision of team and contractors including permit writing and inductions
- Drive Health & Safety and Environmental related issues to the Operational site leadership team
- Identify and implement PPM and AM schedules and activities, driving continuous improvement
Profile
- Previous experience of leading a team (desirable)
- Experience with digital maintenance planning software
- Exposure to the SQCPD (or equivalent) model
- Time served multi-skilled engineer, working within the manufacturing industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experienced/confident communicating with personnel at all levels
- Effective organisational skills
- Excellent time management with the added need for flexibility as and when required to meet business needs
