Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is looking for a Global Commercial Director – Pharma to be based in the UK/EU.

Remote role with around 50% international travel expected.

 

Main Purpose

To lead and direct the global commercial activity for the downstream pharma business of medical propellants to maximize gross margin and cash in line with business strategy.  To manage the regional sales managers to be as efficient and effective as possible.

Part of the Pharma Leadership team, responsible for all commercial activities of the medical propellant business globally. Line management responsibility for direct and indirect reports in UK, India, North and South America, Japan and China.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Delivery of the global strategy, goals and targets defined by the pharma Leadership Team.
  • Develop business growth options and gain support from pharma Leadership Team.
  • Lead and drive the pharma commercial teams ensuring short, medium and long-term targets are managed and identify any gaps in plans.
  • Regular interaction and participation with the pharma LT meetings.
  • Represent Fluor and Energy Materials business on the appropriate regulatory and government affairs committees requiring commercial leadership.
  • Achieve or exceed the annual agreed budget for the region.
  • Direct and support the regional commercial team to achieve their individual gross margin targets.
  • Run management processes to drive and maintain performance and address any gaps against the plan.
  • Report into the monthly financial performance reviews identifying upsides/downsides to forecast.
  • Direct, coach, develop and motivate the commercial teams to deliver and exceed regional targets.
  • Manage the marketing activity to ensure delivery of the commercial strategy.
  • Establish robust commercial processes, integrating other functions as necessary such as logistics, supply chain, operations and finance.

 

Qualifications

Minimum: Graduate. 

 

Knowledge/ Experience Required

  • Commercial business experience is essential.
  • 10+ years of Pharmaceutical Sales/Business Development experience preferably in Medical Devices/Medical Propellants/Respiratory/Inhalation drugs.
  • Experience leading global teams would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Multi-cultural awareness.
  • Strong tenacity and ability to work under pressure.
  • Competent global commercial leader with proven track record in B2B.
