Public Relations and Social Media Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Communications, the PR & Media Manager is responsible for leading the strategic public relations and media efforts of Orbia at large. The PR & Media Manager will be accountable for setting the global public relations and media strategy, including media outreach, earned campaign development and media training for executives. In addition, the PR & Media Manager will be the voice of Orbia and create external communications deliverables including briefs and strategic plans, press releases, announcements, holding statements, scripts and talking points and social media content. This candidate will work closely with all press, media and external communications colleagues as well as leadership teams across Orbia’s six global businesses, providing strategic planning and campaign expertise where needed.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • You’ll support the growth of Orbia’s solutions portfolio by developing and executing integrated brand, product and public relations strategies across various platforms to elevate company-wide initiatives.
  • You’ll lead press asset development including press materials, bios, backgrounders, fact sheets and in-depth media list development, adapting global materials where relevant and overseeing localization/translation.
  • You’ll create compelling messaging and communications and use your strong media relations skills to coach company spokespeople.
  • You’ll build and leverage your deep relationships with media and industry influencers for earned editorial.
  • You’ll manage day-to-day, “always on” media relations and support business colleagues who are the primary contacts for all global media.
  • You’ll play a consultative role with global PR and media agency partners, ensuring strategies are aligned with Orbia brand strategy and messaging while being locally relevant.
  • You’ll lead project/program execution across earned campaigns and work with media partners to craft and place high-impact stories that support our corporate narrative.
  • You’ll participate in budget management and reporting, working to amplify editorial coverage through our paid media strategy.
  • You’ll author media content such as press releases, ghost write thought leadership / byline articles, etc.
  • You’ll be accountable for measurement and reporting.

 

Experience Required

  • 5-7 years of experience in a dynamic public relations or external communications environment, preferably a media agency or startup
  • Experience working for a global matrix organization.
  • Experienced team lead and/or people manager
  • Strong B2B media relationships and a deep understanding of the digital media landscape and thought leadership engagement.
  • Proven track record in building and executing successful PR and media strategies that drive impact and results. Experience with clients in the energy, materials, building and infrastructure, data communications, life science, chemicals and/or healthcare industries is ideal.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience)
  • Spanish language skills desirable
