Process Engineer (On site)

We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to be responsible for process design, operation and implementation. The successful candidate will be able to improve industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. The job holder is responsible for:

  • The research and design of new or improved processing methods
  • PVC Compounding & Evaluation – Compounding, milling, and testing PVC compounds in a laboratory setting.
  • Processing Optimization with Formulation - Analyze all available data and adjusting PVC formulations to optimize compound properties & increased processability such as decreasing downtime, decreasing vent bleed/loss, and increasing run rates. (Denver location only)
  • Collaborate with R+D Engineers to improve formulas and improve processability (i.e., formula not stable enough, present issue to engineer to resolve, etc.)
  • Process Optimization Externally – Work independently and directly with customer to troubleshoot and optimize processing conditions. This will include travelling independently to the customer’s processing facility for hands-on trials.
  • Working with Production Team to Optimize Process Settings – Develop close working relationship with the production team to trial and secure optimal process setting in mixing and extrusion of compounds.
  • Problem Solving – Evaluating process settings, PVC formulation, physical properties, and finished part analysis to understand non-conforming material at the customer and resolve the root-cause of the problem.
  • New Product Processing Optimization – Work with production team to assure optimal results on new production trials on all lines.
  • Project Management – Prioritize active projects to ensure timely project completion and both internal and external customer satisfaction in results.
  • Effective Communication – Communicate timely and effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Polymer, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemistry or related engineering field. Equivalent experience will be considered in place of a degree.
  • Good leadership and human relations skills with sound capacity for planning and organizing.
  • Ability to deal efficiently with various conflicting priorities.
  • Appropriate industry experience may be substituted for academic degree.

This is an On-Site position and benefit eligible on the first day of employment.
