 Payroll Administrator Contract (REMOTE), Canada & US




Position Summary:

This contract position reporting to the Financial Controller, North America, includes the preparation and completion of timely and accurate payroll processes ensuring the payment of wages for hourly, and salaried employees in Canada and the United States.



Length of assignment: 3 + months, or upon completion of project

Location: remote (Canada or US)

Experience:  2 + years

Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Start date: Immediately




Skills and Experience:

  • Business, Accounting or payroll-related education preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Payroll processing experience including understanding of basic deductions, processing ROEs, T4s, hiring and termination of employees, etc.
  • Ceridian Dayforce HCM experience (2+ years)
  • Experience with multiple jurisdictions (states and provinces)
  • Experience with hours and wage reporting
  • Experience with tax jurisdiction onboarding and fallout resolution
  • Experience with garnishments and child support processing
  • Demonstrated positive, problem-solving customer orientation with excellent communication skills
  • Intermediate level skills using Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, and Outlook



  • Process payroll for hourly, and salaried employees (biweekly and semi-monthly)
  • Provide appropriate payroll data information as per internal requests
  • Accurately perform Canadian payroll operations
  • Provide back up support to the US payroll team
  • Ability to test Ceridian enhancements
  • Proven ability to take ownership for managing to deadlines
  • Recognize and maintain confidential information
  • Adhere to all policies and follow established procedures to ensure compliance
  • Perform other job-related duties as required
