Job Title: Maintenance Electrician (Day Shift)

 

Our Maintenance Electrician position is a critical role, and will assist the production team by installing, testing , and maintaining all drive panels, drives, enclosures, motors, PLCs, control devices, and other electrical systems within the plant. Dura-Line is looking for an experienced individual who will put safety first with effective communication skills as well as technical skills to ensure our Extrusion department is operating efficiently with quality production and minimal wasted time and materials. 

 

 

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (5 day work week) 7am-3:30pm with Mandatory on-call rotation every 6 weeks, taking calls Monday-Sunday. 

 

PAY RATE: $31.00/HOUR

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
  • Check and replace fuses, motor starters and relays
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during opertion to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
  • Perform necessary pre-operation activitites to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to troubleshoot and diagnose system breakdowns: then make appropriate repairs and recommendations
  • Install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices when needed
  • Assist all departments with machinery breakdowns
  • Assist with equipment rebuild, plant shutdowns and new equipment installations 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
  • Troubleshoot & program PLCs, VFDs, AC/DC drives and relay logic control systems
  • Capable of instructing logic ot co-workers
  • Willing to work overtime when needed
  • Follow all safety requirements for this position 
  • Additional duties as required by management

  • Abide by all policies and procedures of Dura-Line 

 
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; Bi-lingual a Plus!
  • Minimum one year of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Knowledge of AC & DC motors and drives and controls
  • Knowledge of volt meter use
  • Knowledge of 120/240/480v single and three phase systems
  • Ability to use most hand and power tools and other tools needed for this position: Amp Clamp, voltmeter, wrenches, drills, presses, torches, etc
  • Good knowledge of state and local safety code
  • Prior experience in a shipping or warehouse environment with strong attention to detail required 

 
OCCUPATIONAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to lift up to 50Ibs with or without reasonable assistance with the ability to push and pull pipe coils.
  • Ability to use hand tools: electric saw, air nail gun, hammer, banding equipment, crow bar 
  • Mobility sufficient to allow frequent entrance and exits from lift truck  
  • Ability to remain stationary, standing position 80-90% of the time. 
  • Must be able to squat, bend or stoop as much as 25% of the time as well.

*Tuition reimbursement you must be a full-time employee and complete one continuous year of employment. You will receive $5,000 a year for undergrad and $7,500 a year for grad.**

*$1,500 Sign-On Bonus, $300 after 30 days, $500 after 60 days, $700 after 90 days, with satisfactory work performance and attendance, to be determined by management.
