Senior Accounting Analyst

Orbia is seeking to hire a Senior Accounting Analyst for a remote position based in Mexico.

 

Main Purpose

 

Responsible for accounting and reporting for Orbia’s Holding entities supporting timely and accurate monthly/quarterly financial reporting. Supports and executes operational rollout of documentation and controls in a SOX environment. Assesses current performance of processes under his/her responsibility to suggest and implement incremental improvement and promotes innovative ideas to improve underlying business processes with the support of management. Receives and coordinates financial reporting deliverables associated with Mexico specific reporting: entity level Spanish financial statements, tax audits, Dictamen. Actively participates in the budgeting process, and accounting for routine and relevant transactions in the Holding companies. 

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Analyzes accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems of the Holding Companies. 

  • Prepares general ledger accounts reconciliations. 

  • Posts manual journal entries as needed. 

  • Execute monthly and quarterly close procedures timely with high quality workpapers in accordance with SEC and PCAOB standards  

  • Consistently analyzes financial data and presents financial reports accurately and timely. 

  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. 

  • Designs and builds internal use working papers and financial reports using modern tools (SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, data models) 

  • Participates in the preparation of statutory financial information. 

  • Acts as a leader within the accounting team to facilitate process improvement that are carried out in a dual-language environment (English & Spanish).  

  • Supports the FP&A & treasury team by collaborating with analysis, financial projections, and information requests as needed. 

  • Ensures proper execution of financial policies and procedures. 

  • Focus on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of Holdings group processes 

  • Processes intercompany rebilling processes of holding companies. 

  • Shares information with external auditors of the holding companies. 

  • Supports transformational initiatives that impact his/her organization. Participates as needed in implementations such as SAP S4 HANA, Central Finance and SAP Analytics Cloud. 

  • Ensures data quality and integrity in processes under his/her scope through implementation of data control routines. 

 

Education & Experience

 

Required: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 

  • 2+ years in public accounting or combined industry and public accounting experience (manufacturing experience desirable) 

  • Experience with multi-national SEC public companies 

  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance 

  • Experience with SAP 

 

Preferred / Differentiators: 

 

  • SOX implementation experience 

  • Experience with SAP S4/HANA, CFIN, SAP Analytics 

  • Setting up new processes / Systems 

 

Knowledge & Experience

 

Required: 

 

  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP or IFRS 

  • Proficient in using computer software (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.).  

  • Experience with SAP  

 

Preferred / Differentiators: 

 

  • Experience with SAP S4/HANA, CFIN, SAP Analytics 

  • Power BI and database optimization 

 

Skills Required

 

  • Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and IFRS  

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills  

  • Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure timely completion 

  • Proficient in MS Excel with the ability to work with large data sets to perform data analysis, pivot tables, Vlookups 

  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently while actively seeking guidance when necessary
