Key Account Manager

THIS POSITION IS A REMOTE ROLE

 

We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join our winning team! We are looking for someone who has shown their ability to manage several large and/or medium-sized Key Accounts. This salesperson will have shown the ability to maintain and grow our business with their set of Key Accounts. Someone that has at least 5 years’ technical background will be the foundation for your success in the telecommunications, data communications, fiber optics industries. This will include new business on standard conduct, Micro/FP conversions, and accessory sales.

This person must not be afraid to handle challenges, thrives under pressure, and has superior decision-making skills. You will have responsibility for maintaining productive customer relationships by coordinating all supporting aspects of services rendered such as pricing, problem solving, technical inquiries, and reporting. This is a remote position where you will work from home and be expected to travel 50-70% of the time.

 

How will you contribute to the team?

 

  • You will have responsibility for maintaining productive customer relationships by coordinating all support aspects of services rendered such as pricing, problem solving, technical inquiries and reporting
  • You will be expected to keep abreast of new developments in the industry to ensure the company and the customers are aligned to new technical and commercial developments
  • You will develop relationships to grow a mix of existing accounts as well as to develop new accounts and opportunities
  • You will provide specific guidance to Regional Sales Managers who cover a territory regarding Key Accounts
  • You will work account from start to finish to include pricing, cross-functional team coordination, resolving issues to delivery
  • You will communicate effectively with customers, team members and internal resources to resolve matters in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • You will provide status reports and performance reports to measure customer progress and satisfaction

 

What do you need to be successful in this role?

 

  • The candidate will work as a member of the US sales team and report to the Director of Strategic Accounts 
  • Must be able to work with an entire team, including District and Regional Sales Managers, Product Development, Product Management and Marketing
  • Must be a strong team player, adaptable, and able to handle multiple tasks
  • The ability to interpret technical information and translate into common terminology
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, attention to detail, and process improvement skills
  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, while also being able to work independently, prioritize workload, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • The ability to build rapport with key clients by using strong negotiation and leadership skills
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of large accounts ($1-5 million) management
  • Knowledge of how to write an account plan and take the necessary steps to implement that account plan 
  • Advanced computer skills to include CRM experience & Salesforce

 

What are the skills/experience required?

 

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent
  • English is the required language to work with US customers
  • Managing several large and/or medium accounts showing patterns of increased growth and profitability
  • Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws): The individual must have good mobility, vision good enough to drive even at night, be able to perform tasks like traveling on an airplane, driving a car, visiting a construction site, etc.

“The compensation for this position will typically range from $108,000 -$176,000.  The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.

 

 The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
