Dura-Line Material Handler (6 month contract) in Gravenhurst, ON

MATERIAL HANDLER

Starting Pay: $22.66/hr

This is a 6 months contract position with possible extension

Starting Pay: $ 22.66/hr

Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm 

Manufacturing Experience: 2 + years

 

 

In this role you have the opportunity to:

  • Fulfill orders by packaging necessary materials and preparing them for shipment
  • Store materials in designated storage locations and appropriate areas
  • Operate forklift to load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Accurately report inventory receipts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Provide accurate documentation to Shipping/Receiving Co-Ordinator for processing
  • Inspect all inbound and outbound shipments for damage
  • Communicate with delivery and pick-up carriers to ensure proper product is loaded
  • Assist Shipping/Receiving Co-Ordinator with weekly/monthly/yearly cycle counts
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory
  • Follow all safety requirements for the position and all company safety guidelines
  • Complete appropriate paperwork to ensure accurate inventory transactions
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to facilitate business demands

 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Manufacturing Experience: 2 + years
  • Forklift license and Fork Truck experience is a must
  • Reading, writing, and mathematical basic competency
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety documents.
  • Ability to accurately record inventory receipts.
  • Follows all safety requirements for this position and all company safety guidelines
  • Read and comprehend production SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to communicate respectfully to team members and carriers
  • Teamwork & Reliability
  • Good Attendance
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance
  • Ability to operate shrink wrap machinery.
  • Mobility sufficient to allow frequent entrance and exits from lift truck
  • Ability to work in cold weather environment
  • Attention to Detail
  • Self-Motivated
  • Working knowledge and experience with MS Excel, MS Word, Data Entry is a plus
  • SAP or ERP inventory system is a plus
  • Train and mentor teammates with less experience
