Job Description

The Maintenance Lead will coordinate work flow of all Maintenance Technicians and Electricians across all shifts. They will communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.

 

This position is a full-time position, on-site at our extrusion plant located at:

What can you expect in the Lead Maintenance Technican role at Dura-Line?

Directly coordinates 3-8 employees in the Maintenance Department. 

Carries out Lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include:

    • Training employees
    • Planning, assigning, and directing work
    • Assisting the Maintenance Manager in appraising performance
    • Rewarding and disciplining employees
    • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Direct workers engaged in repairing production equipment and doing preventative maintenance.
    • This includes prioritizing the work of others.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Coordinate and direct activities of workers as lead man and personally complete electrical, mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Assist all departments with machinery breakdowns.
  • Assist the general maintenance crew with equipment rebuild, plant shutdowns, and new equipment installations.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Follow all safety requirements for this position and complete pre-shift safety briefings and inspections and ensure workers to do the same.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as directed by management.

What does Dura-Line need from you?

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-year extrusion or manufacturing experience preferred.  
  • Knowledge of PLC controlled & integrated equipment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to verbally communicate, read and write in the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic math; add, subtract, multiply, and divide.   
  • Able to use measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Your commitment to being a reliable and punctual team player. (Attendance on scheduled workdays is a must!).
  • Your commitment to wearing gloves, eye protection, and steel toe boots always, and dust mask, earplugs, hard hats, and face shields as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workspace.
  • Your ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as the ability to push and pull pipe coils.
  • Your ability to work most of the time indoors on the plant floor, with heat, dust, and noise and work some of the time outdoors in any weather condition.
  • Your ability to remain in a stationary, standing position 80-100% of the time. Must be able to squat, bend, or stoop as much as 25% of the time on some days.
