Lead Quality Assurance Technician

Dura-Line, an Orbia business is hiring for a Night Shift Lead Quality Technician to join our Gainesville, TX Team.

Job Description

The Lead Quality Assurance Technician will facilitate and assist in the Quality Assurance, document control, safety functions at the plant and daily quality SAP (centralized enterprise management system)

 

This position is a full-time position, on-site at our extrusion plant located at:

2406 I-35 Frontage Road

Gainesville, TX 76240

 

What can you expect in the Lead Quality Technician role at Dura-Line?

  • Prepare Certification of Compliance as requested
  • Inspect products during the extrusion process using calipers, micrometers, tape, and weight scale
  • Compare product with customer specifications
  • Make decision on product status, and mark the type of defect if applicable
  • Document information on work orders
  • Inspect and tag reels
  • Test incoming raw material and conduit, and record the date
  • Operate diagnostic equipment needed to perform job
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area
  • Follow all safety requirements
  • SAP daily movements, transactions, and system management
  • Perform all other tasks and projects as assigned or required
  • Quality Laboratory Scheduling and Management
  • TL900 (ISO) Plant setup and preparation through internal audits 
  • Document control management process

    • Monday- Friday
    • Night Shift Hours 11:00pm – 7:00am

What does Dura-Line need from you?

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-year extrusion or manufacturing experience preferred.  
  • Knowledge of PLC controlled & integrated equipment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to verbally communicate, read and write in the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic math; add, subtract, multiply, and divide.   
  • Able to use measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Your commitment to being a reliable and punctual team player. (Attendance on scheduled workdays is a must!).
  • Your commitment to wearing gloves, eye protection, and steel toe boots always, and dust mask, earplugs, hard hats, and face shields as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workspace.
  • Your ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as the ability to push and pull pipe coils.
  • Your ability to work most of the time indoors on the plant floor, with heat, dust, and noise and work some of the time outdoors in any weather condition.
  • Your ability to remain in a stationary, standing position 80-100% of the time. Must be able to squat, bend, or stoop as much as 25% of the time on some days.
