Dura-Line, An Orbia Business is Hiring for an HR People Specialist in our Elyria, Ohio Facility (100% on-site)
As a People Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting all HR operations in a 24/7 larger manufacturing facility and ensuring a smooth employee experience from onboarding to payroll. This is a boots on the ground position that interacts with all staff consistently everyday. You will process the day-to-day administrative HR functions, assist with new hire processes, maintain employee data, and provide support in all People activities.
- Monday: 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
- Tuesday & Wednesday: 12:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
- Thursday & Friday: 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support HR operations and processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, employee changes, random drug and alcohol testing, offboarding)

Coordinate and process onboarding activities including paperwork, surveys and scheduling

Support local and centralized recruitment activities including scheduling, pre-screening, interviewing and offer processing

Maintain and update employee digital and hardcopy records within Pulse and Dayforce .

Support payroll functions by assisting with timekeeping, time off adjustments, and corrections.

Process employment changes such as transfers, promotions, and terminations in partnership with PBP.
- Assist with benefits enrollment, status changes, and general inquiries
- Coordinate employee engagement activities including recognition, meetings, meals, performance review, activities, etc.
- Additional duties as requested by Management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- Associates or 2 year degree in Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent to 3 plus years of relevant work experience.
- 2+ years of HR experience in administrative or generalist support functions.
- Hands-on experience with HR processes such as onboarding, I-9 verification, background checks, payroll entry, and employee data management.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) with working knowledge of HRIS systems
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Commitment to following all SOP's and GMP's set forth by Dura-Line
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable assistance
- Ability to wear the proper PPE at all times (safety glasses, safety boots/shoes, etc)
- Ability to walk around the plant floor consistently
- Ability to sit/stand in an office environment
- Ability to spend time around hot machinery
- Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects, pushing and pulling objects
- Comfortable wearing the appropriate PPE while in production and warehouse areas
