The role
The role holds overall accountability for country leadership and commercial performance, combined in the role as Sales & Country Director. This position leads the organization and the Nordic sales operation to deliver profitable growth across the B&I product portfolio and up- and downstream sales channels. The role sets and executes sales strategies aligned with regional objectives and the long-term business strategy, and ensures effective governance, compliance, and representation of the company toward internal and external stakeholders. Acting as the public face of the business, the role builds strong relationships with industry partners, customers, and group functions. Through leadership of the local management committees and the sales leadership team, the role drives cross functional alignment and foster a high-performance culture. The position owns key customer relationships, leads major negotiations, supports demand planning and forecasting, and works closely with finance and functional leaders to secure delivery of P&L targets and sustainable business growth.
The overall responsibility for the Country Director is
- Act as the primary representative and public face of the company toward internal and external stakeholders, including press and media
- Lead and chair the local LMCs, ensuring close coordination and alignment across all functional areas on overarching priorities
- Hold signing and contractual authority in accordance with legislation
- Lead town hall meetings and approve all internal and external communications
- Build and maintain strong relationships, ensure cross-country alignment, and serve as the Nordic spokesperson within the BU Northern Europe
To lead the Nordic Sales organisation through a team of sales leaders in the following areas:
- Distribution Sales via Merchants and Retailers (relationships and trading agreements)
- Merchant Branch support (sales and merchandising in the branch networks)
- Upstream and Specification Sales via Developers, Specifiers and Engineers including project identification, tracking, conversion and completion
- Technical design, support, training, inspections and complaints
- Providing market intelligence and insight into the Nordic businesses to enable better decision making and process improvements
- Leading all negotiations with key distribution partners
- Leading and supporting the Demand Review analysis and projections to improve the sales forecasting process.
- Working closely with the FD and other function leads to ensure that the Commercial strategy is regularly reviewed and aligned to the P&L and business plan.
- Ensuring that all direct reports manage their relationships with internal departments and employees in a positive and professional manner.
- Lead the sales organisation in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, talent development, and performance management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LANGUAGE, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Business Management or a related and relevant discipline is essential, MBA or master’s degree in a related field would be advantageous
- Experience of operating within a highly driven Health and Safety environment. Highly committed to and focused on accident prevention and incident reporting
- Substantial commercial experience in the building product or construction sector
- Demonstrable experience in senior role developing and executing commercial strategy
- Dynamic and courageous management style aligned with strong personal and Orbia values
- Highly numerate with excellent communication skills and accurate sales forecasting acumen
- Communicates with impact and always operates with integrity
- Proven ability in driving a data led, action orientated plan to successfully drive teams within the Nordics
- Excellent at developing and maintaining professional relationships, both internally and externally
- A competent and skilled negotiator with proven ability at negotiating complex agreements at a national level, preferably within the building products sector or construction industry
- An effective leader who can build high performing and highly motivated teams with excellent training, coaching and people leadership credentials. Sets ambitious goals for themselves and their teams
- A dynamic, energetic and results driven leader who leads by example
- Possesses strategic decision-making skills. Considers associated risks and acts quickly and decisively in the best interests of the business
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- CRM and Project Management proficiency
- Technical competence would be a distinct advantage
- Familiarity of sustainability aspects impacting the built environment and the UFH industry would be desirable
- Develops and shares a strong network of contacts and partnerships
- The ability to understand and communicate to the highest level in the English language, across all mediums, is essential to performing the role well
