We are currently looking for an Director Western Europe Finance to join our team at Germany, Wavin GmBH., an Orbia business. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.
Main purpose
To lead the Finance teams within BU West territory to ensure that the business is operating in compliance with group policies and within relevant standard accounting practices. To support the MD with analysis of how the business can sustainably improve its financial performance (both short and longer term). To review the Finance function and indicate how it could be developed (people, process, structure) to align to the future shape of the business. Lead/manage country-territory consolidation, reporting and statutory filings.
Main responsibilities:
• Provision of Financial Management and Commercial Analysis to BU West businesses.
• Ensure that Financial best practice and internal Wavin Group Financial procedures are followed within the region.
• Provide Finance and Accountancy expertise in operational and commercial matters.
• Investigate and analyze areas of the region where it can improve profitability and efficiency; develop the principles of a business case to implement changes in the areas identified.
• Ensure good governance on financial transactions with adherence to approval and authority levels in all cases.
• Provide accurate and on time forecasting and reporting to the region/group on sales, costs and other expenditure (including capex).
• Lead the budget build up and monitoring process for the region in line with group timetables.
• Challenge and/or support key internal customers and influencers with regards to all budgeted and ad-hoc spend.
• Ensure that all financial controls for the company are met and adhered to at all time
• Close control of all expense, overheads and CAPEX
Accountabilities (Leadership)
• Takes the lead and sets a high standard for Health and Safety as a senior manager and leader of the Finance team.
• Engage, coach, manage and lead his/her direct reports.
• Ensure that Finance team is competent, engaged, and working towards their personal and business objectives
• Proactively implements all Company processes and procedures with regards to people management.
Our requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a high level of analytical skills with CIMA qualification; preferred Master’s degree
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience (5+ years of experience in senior financial leadership position) required. Previous experience managing finance, accounting and control functions required.
• Fluent in English and German language
• Experience navigating resolution of complex technical accounting issues
• Strong proficiency in SAP/ ERP and/ or other financial consolidation and reporting software (SAP, SAC, HFM, Oracle)
• Proven record of building, growing the capabilities of and mentoring a strong , international team in a complex organization
• Demonstrated experience driving organizational change through process and system improvement
• Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, communication, networking and interpersonal skills
• Good strategic thinking and planning skills
• Experience of working for manufacturing or engineering business
• Experience of working in multinational diverse organizations
